A celebration of big band leader Dal Richards’ life will be held at Christ Church Cathedral at Burrard and Georgia on Saturday at 2 p.m. Richards died New Year’s Eve, a few days shy of his 98th birthday. Christ Church is an appropriate venue for the memorial, because it’s across the street from the Hotel Vancouver, where the big band legend held a house gig in the Panorama Roof nightclub from 1940 to 1965. read more >>>
