Figure Technology Solutions Inc. filed a registration statement on Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for a proposed public offering of its Series A Blockchain Common Stock, marking the launch of the first blockchain-native public equity security.

Figure‘s offering introduces several industry firsts, which could make it a model for future issuances. The company said the shares, called Blockchain Stock, will be issued and settled exclusively on the Provenance Blockchain, bypassing traditional securities infrastructure such as the Depository Trust & Clearing Corp.
