March job growth comes in stronger than expected

Much to the surprise of economic analysts, the U.S. economy added 228,000 nonfarm payroll jobs in March, according to data released Friday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

“Despite growing concerns about economic uncertainty, job growth was robust across many sectors last month,” Lisa Sturtevant, the chief economist at Bright MLS, said in a statement.
